Every once in while you happen upon a spring day that decides it wants to be particularly wet. As a photographer, your first concern is keeping your camera dry. After this concern is appeased with a good umbrella, your primary concern is the outlook of your bride. Arriving at the getting ready portion of the day is slightly nerve-wracking – will there be tears? Joy? Praying and interceding for sun? In Erin’s case, when I arrived, the tears had long been dried and Erin’s contagious smile could not be contained. She was getting MARRIED! And she was ready to celebrate rain or shine!
Erin & Mike together are the happiest of couples. They got married under a neatly arranged tarp in Williams Park (which Mike and friends had spent the morning faithfully rigging up), which actually gave off quite a west coast feel. Plus, there was audience participation to periodically release water from the puddles forming on the “roof.” The whole day was full of laughter, as we dodged around the downpour and captured some of the cutest portraits.
Thanks to Erin, Mike, wedding party, and family for being so much fun, and for having such a beautiful day!
